TEACHING PACKAGE DESCRIPTIONS

Package #1 .....Kitchen Safety& Food Handling Safety

This package is perfect for restaurant owners, cooking instructors or teachers in the cooking/chef field. Packages can be destributed for employees to do at their own convenience or can be facilitated by the instructor in a workshop setting. Instructional material such as overhead transparencies , laminated bristol boards as well as goal specific activities are available with this package for a small additional fee.

Kitchen safety includes possible physical environmental hazards such as burns, falls and electical injury. Safe food handling with concentration on salmonella, e-coli and other bacterial pathogens. A short quizz comes with this package which can be kept in the client's file for accountability issues if needed. This is a simple way to not only provide safety education for your clients but to have something on hard copy for future reference.

Package #2.....Ergonomics

Disability claims cost the government as well as the employer large amounts of money. The employer's cost for retraining is immense, therefore; this package may be helpful in protecting yourself as well as your employees from common physical ailments that can be reduced by simple training of proper lifting techniques, reducing repetitive movement injury and prolonged physical stances. The advanced package includes a C.D. demo where interactive problem solving can be performed All packages come with a quiz which can be kept on file.

Package #3.....Stress Reduction

It is a well knwn fact the stress is a "silent killer", in it's more innoculous state, it causes disatisfaction in one's life and in it's more threatening mode it can cause a variety of physical ailments which include: heart attacks, strokes, and other opportunistic disease which threaten the body when one's immune system is compromised. Stress decreases work performance, increases sick days and may also create a toxic work environment. When one is experiencing stress, he/she is more likely to be less patient and more aggressive toward others: thereby; creating a decrease in customer satisfaction and co-worker cohesion in the environment. This package provides a brief descreption of stress, a self stress assessment as well as several relaxation techniques. The extensive package includes a C.D. of situations where a group can target common strssors and discuss possible alternatives as well as other group activities.
